Advocacy and Education Philosophy and Services

With nearly 40 years of experience, we are fully convinced that education and advocacy go hand in hand to reducing the prevalence of violence and its devastating impact on society.

Our Philosophy

Violence is a major public health issue affecting mental, physical, emotional, financial and spiritual health. Our education and outreach programs provide vital information, tools and resources to raise awareness about victimization and the impacts of crime, increased public and personal safety, and facilitate violence prevention.  In addition to core messages and strategies, many of our programs utilize the power of the arts to deepen and reveal our shared human experience and inspire collective work toward peace and healing.

Through culturally and socially competent programs that address and serve the diverse needs of our community, Center for Victims increases the ability of all individuals, families, and communities to live violence- and crime-free lives.

Educational Presentations

We are available to address the greater Pittsburgh community on a variety of issues as they relate to violence, its impacts, prevention strategies, and more.  Please call 412-482-3240 to invite us to speak with your group or community about topics that can include any of the following:
